In Local News….
An Accident on Route 80 in Parsippany-Troy Hills Township blocks lanes. New Jersey State police said a multi-vehicle accident this morning on Route 80 westbound near Exit 42 in Parsippany-Troy Hills Township was blocking two lanes and the scene was causing a four-mile back-up, according to the Department of Transportation website. According to police one person died in the 5:30 a.m. crash that involved four vehicles. Others involved in the accident with non-life-threatening injuries were transferred to St. Claire's Hospital in Denville.

Winds topple trees, telephone poles and power lines throughout the state. Strong winds that reached up to 55 mph yesterday knocked down trees and power lines across the state, and one powerful surge sent debris toppling from a building in Trenton on top of a young girl, officials said.
The powerful winds toppled telephone poles, trees and streetlights in Morris, Union and Middlesex counties, blocking off roadways and endangering residents, according to police and weather officials.

Sting operation finds illegal gun sales in 3 states. An investigation commissioned by the city of New York found private gun vendors selling weapons to buyers who admitted not being able to pass background checks, breaking federal law. The sales were made at seven gun shows in Ohio, Tennessee and Nevada. Hired investigators with hidden cameras were able to purchase guns from private sellers after announcing to the vendors they could not pass a background check. Nineteen of the 30 private sellers the undercover investigators dealt with failed the integrity test, according to the report.

Looks like the Taliban are still at it. The Taliban claims responsibility for deadly suicide attack in Kabul. A suicide car bomb attack near the Indian Embassy killed at least 13 people and wounded 60 others on Thursday, officials said. Indian officials said the bomber had intended to strike the embassy. "The suicide attack(er) ... attempted (to go) through one of the embassy gates," Vish-nu Prak-ash, spokesman for India's external affairs ministry. The bomb went off at about 8:30 a.m. (4:00 a.m. GMT), just as offices and shops were opening for the day. A similar attack last year killed at least 58 people outside the Indian embassy.

In your local MLB action the Yankee’s win postseason opener with a win against the Minnesota Twins 7-2. In other scores around the MLB the Phillies win easily against the Rockies 5 to1 and the Dodgers also get a W against the Cardinals 5 to 3. In the NFL the Giants are preparing for Sunday’s game vs. The Oakland Raiders. While the Jets made a big move by making a trade for the Browns star wide receiver and pro bowler Braylon Edwards. In NBA action the Knicks are preparing for the upcoming 09-2010 season at their training facility
In Entertainment News…
Nancy Grace took another verbal swing at Jon Gosselin during this week's panel on 'The Insider.' Gosselin argues that money had nothing to do with halting 'Kate Plus Eight.' Grace mocks, "You've got on two diamond earrings. You're obviously not broke." Gosselin snickers that his bling is merely "CZs" (cubic zirconia), but Grace is obviously not amused.
